Christian philosophy

The framework of support is based around an addictions recovery programme including key-working, group support, practical training in life skills and emotional support. We aim to communicate each person's value and encourage personal development in order to equip residents to move beyond addictions to become independent members of the community.

Please see 'Resettlement / aftercare services' below.
We offer 1 to 1 key-work support while with us and still offer some support when they leave so we can help a resident to remain stable. We do consider allowing residents who have left the programme early for re-entry into the programme at a later date, and will work with the residents to achieve this.
Finding positive move-on accommodation is an integral part of the support planning at The Bridge. We have relationship with a local housing association who offer successful clients accommodation.

We initially take brief referral details over the telephone then, if appropriate, we send out an application form (usually via fax) and a request for references. Once a completed form is returned we will arrange an interview as soon as possible. We will get a response back to the applicant within a maximum of 3 days after interview, once any references are gathered.
We can do both prison visits and telephone interviews
Failure of a resident to engage with the programme, breaking the terms of the licence agreement, or failing drug and alcohol tests can lead to discharge from the programme. We provide a 14 day relapse prevention programme in order to support residents through a period of lapse in their recovery. Failed tests during this period will result in a client being asked to leave.
