Therapeutic community
At New Oakwood Lodge we offer residents the opportunity to be part of an Enhanced Therapeutic Community supported by our highly experienced team of staff. Our dedicated team will offer a structured model of care in a psychologically informed environment where social relationships, daily structures and a variety of activities are all deliberately designed to support an individual’s health and well-being. Engaging in this interdependent form of group living helps individuals to have a more fulfilling life and achieve their maximum social potential .

Phoenix Futures works with service users around childcare matters and is keen to enable children to visit residents when appropriate. The presence of children places responsibilities on Phoenix Futures irrespective of who is nominally responsible for the care and supervision of a child during a visit. Visits of children are planned, and the frequency, pattern and nature of these visits discussed with the resident, care manager/referring agency.
Phoenix Futures New Oakwood Lodge has excellent support pathways for those wishing to relocate and for those wishing to stay in the Derby area. Following the main programme we can offer supported housing at one of our services located across the county, where you can live with like-minded peers who have all gone through the programme. If you wish to move back to your home area we can support you in finding suitable accommodation.
Our duty of care extends to ensuring as far as possible the continuing safety of the service user. Those evicted from services are given as much onwards assistance as is practicable (in liaison with the care manager, where appropriate). Information is given on discharge to minimise the risk of harm and drug overdose. This is in form of our Leavers pack which every resident is given on discharge.
Once individuals come to the end of their residential programme, they may have the option of moving into Phoenix recovery housing services, returning to their own home or moving on to alternative accommodation provision. Through our aftercare services we continue to support individuals with this transition.
