Programme details:

At Abbeycare, we offer a full intensive therapeutic programme. The therapeutic treatment approach is informed by best practice and statistically proven research. This approach includes elements of: cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) - educational group work, motivational interviewing including person centred one to one, the 12 step model and relapse prevention.

Family support services:

We have a fortnightly family support group and family therapy is available. We also work with childcare services involved with our clients.

Post treatment support:

As a client moves towards the end of their period of rehab treatment, the focus of care and treatment planning shifts to an ongoing support plan, which enables clients to plan and prepare effectively for their post-treatment objectives and reintegration back into mainstream life. In preparation for the completion of your rehab, your keyworker will help you to draw up an aftercare plan to assist you maintain your personal commitment to your recovery, achieve lasting changes in your lifestyle, and enable early detection of a possible relapse. We also provide aftercare therapy packages. We also have vibrant aftercare group on Monday evenings at Mudrostoun Castle and on Wednesdays in Edinburgh.

Each client works one-to-one with their keyworkers to define multiple supports for re-integration including aftercare meetings, family support groups, local mutual aid groups, and connection with sponsors. Aftercare is customised on an individual basis, especially for that person's needs. Additional one-to-one counselling and therapy is also available.
