Programme details:
“Brook Drive is a residential community drug and alcohol detoxification unit, consisting of 27 bed spaces and is registered to provide the CQC regulated activity “accommodation for persons who require treatment for substance misuse”. We are open 24 hours 365 days a year and provide medically supervised alcohol and drug detoxification programmes for people aged 18 and above. Many of our service users also have other needs including diagnosed mental ill health, pre-existing physical health needs and challenging life circumstances. There is a multidisciplinary staff team of 20, including nurses, recovery substance misuse/mental health workers, complimentary therapy workers and group workers.”

Harm reduction policies for clients leaving the programme early:
There are procedures in place should a person relapse or discharge early. We will offer and train in its use those on opiate replacement naloxone when they leave us. Care managers and local prescribing agencies e.g. GPs will be contacted for continuity of essential medication.
Resettlement / after-care services:
Service Users being admitted to our project will have a plan for aftercare agreed with in the community with their care manager. This may be second stage residential rehabilitation or community day programmes. In certain individual cases these plans may take place when at Brook Drive

Senior Addictions Specialist Nurse (Band 7) 7 days per week, and sessions from a Consultant Addictions Psychiatrist, Consultant Addictions Psychologist and an Addictions Nurse Manager (Band 8a).
